Who is Grace George?

Grace George is a singer-songwriter and live-looping performer from Hertfordshire, who also goes by GG. She releases her own pop music alongside a growing collection of Acoustic Covers, which have featured on ITV’s Love Island.

She is not to be confused with the American stage actress of the same name (1879–1961).

Where is Grace George from?

Grace was born and raised in Hertfordshire, as the Herts Advertiser has reported, and she is still based there. She went to college at Elstree Screen Arts.

She sang at the launch of the Christmas Charter Market in 2019 and was booked for two headline sets at The Maltings Summer Sounds in June 2025.

What kind of music does Grace George make?

A smokey and emotive vocal with an intimate instrumentation that takes you on a chilled journey. The perfect accompaniment to date night, relaxing in the bath, dining with family and friends and unwinding with the kids or dog.

Grace, on her Acoustic Covers

Her Acoustic Covers are released on Tristar Records and gathered on Spotify in The Complete Acoustic Covers Collection. She has also sung on dance collaborations, including ‘Silence’ with Bennie, ‘Walk on Water’ with DLAY and Maui Sam, and ‘Won’t Let Go’ with Bad Patterns. The Herts Advertiser describes her own releases as pop and commercial house.

What is live looping, and how does Grace perform it?

Live looping is a way of building a song on stage in real time. The performer records a short phrase, a loop pedal plays it back on repeat, and each new part is layered on top until the song is complete.

Grace performs with her voice, a guitar and a Loop Station, a craft inspired by Ed Sheeran and KT Tunstall, as she told the Herts Advertiser. In the words of her bio, she “crafts immersive one-woman shows that mesmerise audiences — effortlessly building harmonies, beats, and textures live in the moment.”

It's unusual to witness anyone who can silence an audience with their ability to play, sing and visually entertain...I'd say that Grace's vocal control is amongst the best I've heard: strong and confident but comfortable and warming all at the same time.

How long has Grace George been performing?

Grace started singing at open mic nights at the age of 10 and played her first paid gig at 14, she told the St Albans Times. She was a full-time musician before the COVID-19 pandemic, and during lockdown she kept playing through free livestreamed concerts on Facebook and Instagram. The first, on 5 February 2021, reached more than 2,000 people, reported the Herts Advertiser.

Exactly who I am, doing exactly what I’m doing now! Living the dream baby!

Has Grace George’s music been on Love Island?

Yes. Her Acoustic Cover of Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’ played in episode 11 of the ninth season of Love Island on ITV2 in 2023, and Shazam searches for her music rose after the broadcast, reported the Herts Advertiser.

Grace has had multiple Love Island UK syncs, and she shared one of them on Instagram in July 2026.

Which song did Grace George release on Sigma’s label?

‘Silence’, by Bennie featuring Grace George, came out on 24 March 2023 on Beats Bass Life, the record label created by the drum and bass duo Sigma. The track remakes Delerium’s ‘Silence’, and Grace sings the lines Sarah McLachlan sang on the original. Joe Lenzie of Sigma first got in touch through her Instagram messages, according to the Herts Advertiser.

Now here's a real talent, a young woman who could make it all the way to the top. Grace George is a gifted artist who creates her own material but can equally add a magic sparkle to well-known songs.
